Shortly after we shared our excitement & trading plans for this Summer back in March, life threw us an unexpected curved ball; Completely out of the blue, Pete was diagnosed with two unrelated conditions, prostate cancer & Lymphoma. Pete, hadn't been unwell but was encouraged to get a PSA test after I saw a Facebook post written by a friend who’s husband had also recently tested positive after being prompted to get checked. We are incredibly grateful to that friend for raising awareness about the most common cancer amongst men in the UK. To our great surprise Pete’s PSA test was out of the normal range, which led to more investigations & ultimately both cancer diagnoses. We hope that by sharing this with you all, it might nudge someone else to get checked too. A simple test made all the difference in catching things early & picked up the Lymphoma.![]()
Although all of this has been unfolding in the background for several weeks now, with Pete undergoing tests, biopsies & scans & the further discovery of a cyst (benign) on his Pancreas, we haven't shared anything publicly until now as we have been waiting to find out about the treatment plans for both cancers. Right now we are focused on getting Pete through that treatment, one step at a time. The outlook is positive, but it is going to be a challenging few months. We plan to trade when & where we can, even if it is just me with help & we are very grateful for the kind & understanding emails we have received back from the organisers of these events, whom we notified once we knew that Pete will be having 6 months of chemotherapy for the Lymphoma. There may however, be some weeks, when we will need to pull back to focus on health & rest & we hope that you will consider buying from our website at these times. In the meantime we are carrying on as usual, enjoying this bubble of normality & crossing each bridge as we come to it; It looks like treatment will not be starting for at least a couple of weeks & we both expect to be at North Wales Paganfest & WITCH - A Festival of Spirituality, Paganism & Witchcraft Thanks so much for sticking with us & we will keep you posted as things progress.
