Festival season is now officially over and I have, single handedly, due to Pete being out of action following his prostatectomy, successfully transferred all of our stock from the van to our stockroom and listed the majority of it on the website, so there are now lots more items for you to browse! We do combine purchases and are able to send up to 2kg via Royal Mail’s tracked 48 hour service for just £4.50 and anything that is large letter size for £3.25. If an item that you have ordered is out if stock, we will always offer you an alternative item or a full refund, via email. If no response is received to an email that may have gone into a junk folder, we will try to contact you via text before making you a refund. We are Pete & Jules and we created The Hippie Boat Brand in 2015. Operating as Roving Traders from our narrowboat, we cruised the UK Canals and Rivers setting up our extensive outdoor display of Fair Trade Festival Style Clothing, Bags, Accessories, Incense and other ethically sourced merchandise from the side of the boat at various towpath locations over the Spring & Summer months.

Last year, after a move off the boat to a traditional Welsh cottage on the Llyn Peninsula, we hit the road in a Motorhome and took our pop-up shop to various land based Festivals, some of which were in areas that we haven’t previously been able to reach by boat! Thank you so much to everyone that made 2024 such an absolutely awesome trading experience! Despite the challenges of adverse weather at times, which saw gazebos taking off in all directions, we had so much fun; we reunited with friends, made lots of new friends, enjoyed listening to some fantastic bands, sold lots of gorgeous clothes to lovely customers and made wonderful memories. Travelling on wheels enabled us to zig zag across the country rather than being confined to one canal route and it really opened up our trading options.

We are now looking forward to our second year of land trading and are excited to get on the road again with the Hippie Boat on Wheels.

I’m in a sling for a couple of weeks, in order to immobilise & rest my shoulder, so Pete has been temporarily promoted to chief cook and bottle washer! I haven’t posted much lately, but it doesn’t mean that we have been idle 😁 Pete is recovering really well and is walking every day, getting fitter and fitter. No results though until after 12th Nov when he will have his first post op PSA blood test. We have also had a steady stream of house guests, which has been lovely, with more to come and next weekend, we are heading to East Yorkshire for the wedding of my gorgeous youngest God-daughter. There has been lots of sourdough baking and I have been making the most of the dry weather and have almost completed my latest project 😊 which has been on my to do list for quite sometime.
