We are Pete & Jules and we created The Hippie Boat Brand in 2015. Operating as Roving Traders from our narrowboat, we cruised the UK Canals and Rivers setting up our extensive outdoor display of Fair Trade Festival Style Clothing, Bags, Accessories, Incense and other ethically sourced merchandise from the side of the boat at various towpath locations over the Spring & Summer months.

In 2024, after a move off the boat to a traditional Welsh cottage on the Llyn Peninsula, we hit the road in and took our pop-up shop to various land based Festivals, some of which were in areas that we haven’t previously been able to reach by boat! We had so much fun completing our first land trading season; we reunited with friends, made lots of new friends, enjoyed listening to some fantastic bands, sold lots of gorgeous clothes to lovely customers and made wonderful memories and we couldn’t wait to do it all again in 2025. Little did we know at the start of last year, following an awesome three months travelling across thirteen European Countries, that life was about to chuck us a huge curved ball. Pete, was diagnosed with both Prostate Cancer and a very rare blood cancer called Lymphoplasmactyc Lymphoma in April, which was a huge shock. However, despite our initial concerns, we were able to complete the majority of the events that we had already booked, with the help of friends, until Pete had robotic surgery in London for the Prostate Cancer on 21st August and we had to stop. Pete has made a fantastic recovery from the operation, but sadly, his cancer journey continues and we start 2026 with him undergoing more scans and tests, knowing that further treatment will be necessary to keep both cancers under control. We refuse to put life on hold though and have already started booking our 2026 Festival season. Many of the organisers of these festivals have become friends and have been so kind and supportive to us, so we feel very safe making these commitments.

We are now looking forward to our third year of land trading (how time has flown)  and are excited to get on the road again in April, with the Hippie Boat on Wheels.

Love

Jules & Pete xx

We had such a fabulous day at the Nant Gwrtheyrn Christmas Fair on Saturday, thank you so very much to the lovely organisers, other stall holders who were so friendly & welcoming & everyone that came to chat & support our stall! It was just what we needed to replenish our energy at this time of ongoing health issues &’treatment, which do become in danger of dominating daily life if the balance isn’t right! It felt so good to get out and trade after such a long break & has super charged the rest of our week for sure: the van is still packed if anyone has any space for us at a local Christmas event next weekend? Don’t forget that we also have a website if you can’t get to us in person 🎉🫶🏼🤗 #christmasseason #clothingbrand #fairtradefashion #northwales #llynpeninsula ... See MoreSee Less

*****UPDATE****All sorted and PayPal has been reinstated 😅Unfortunately I have had to temporarily disable PayPal on our website as we have been the victim of a Card Testing Attack, which has been very frustrating as I have had to remove literally hundreds of failed payments 😩 I have been trying to resolve the issue since yesterday, without success and have now identified the payment route being used to make the attack is Paypal. I have downloaded ‘cloudfare Turnstile’, but I don’t think that it is working, so I need to wait until Monday when I will be able to access more expert help from Niki. I will endeavour to enable Paypal again asap, but in the meantime, all other payment options are available. If anyone is wondering what a card testing attack is, here is an extract from an article I sourced online:“Card testing is a type of fraud where the someone obtains a large amount of stolen credit card data, and then attempts to determine which of those cards are valid. Typically, these fraudulent attempts involve making a multiple low-value purchases, each with a different card, to avoid detection by cardholders or banks. If the purchase is successful, the attacker learns that the card is valid, allowing them to sell the card data as “validated” for higher prices, or to use it for larger fraudulent purchases”. ...
